The historic "Rock House" was previously used as a maintenance facility for the Arizona
Department of Transportation. After obtaining the building from the State, Yavapai College
hired Stroh Architecture, Inc., in collaboration with Otwell Associates Architects, to renovate the
building for multipurpose meetings as well as the Board of Directors meeting room.
To maintain its historical significance, the building was restored per the Secretary of the
Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.
The facility contains the Board Room, restrooms, kitchenette, and an exterior breakout patio.
The project won a Historic Preservation Award from the City of Prescott.
This 2,037 sq. ft. facility was completed in July 2004 at a construction cost of $180,735.
