The Skull Valley Unified School District hired Stroh Architecture, Inc., in collaboration with
Otwell Associates Architects, to design this elementary school, which is located in the rural
ranching community of Skull Valley, Arizona, 20 miles west of Prescott.
The school houses four classrooms designed for various teaching schemes, as well as a
Library/Media Center and a Multi-Purpose Room that can function as a Cafeteria,
Music/Drama, Assembly and PE Area.
The design reflects the ranch style architecture of the valley. The exterior materials consist of
masonry and indigenous flagstone. The masonry and stone colors blend with the surrounding
Bradshaw Mountains and provide the School District with a maintenance-free exterior.
This 8,583 sq. ft. school was completed in April 2001 at a construction cost of $1,015,000.
