The Hualapai Indian Tribe hired Stroh Architecture, Inc., in collaboration with Otwell Associates
Architects, to design this state-of-the-art facility, which is located five miles west of the remote
village of Peach Springs on the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
This junior/senior high school houses six home classrooms, a library, and science, vocational
education and home economics rooms. Also included are a full commercial kitchen, a
cafeteria, and a full competition gymnasium which seats 800 spectators. The school is
equipped throughout for distance learning.
The exterior masonry colors were chosen to harmonize the building with the nearby Music
Mountains.
This 40,861 sq. ft. school was completed in July 2000 at a construction cost of $5,800,000.
