The Ak-Chin Indian Community hired Stroh Architecture, Inc. to design this facility, which
serves as the recreational hub for the Community.
The facility houses a full competition Gymnasium which can seat 800 people. The telescoping
bleachers can be retracted to provide access for two practice courts. Other elements of the
facility include a game room, health spa, sauna, catering kitchen, offices, meeting rooms and
locker rooms.
The Aquatic Center contains four 25-meter lanes, a water slide, and various interactive water
features in the children’s and accessible zero-entry area. Two ramadas with BBQ’s are
located in the pool area to provide shade and picnic areas.
This 14,000 sq. ft. facility was completed in August 2004 at a construction cost of $2,400,000.
